This past month has seen some big news at Ubiqus. Here’s our round up to keep you up to date.
The People Side
At Ubiqus, Security is head of the agenda for the Group. In recent months we have spoken about the importance of being security savvy when selecting your suppliers. A recent article by City AM, ahead of the Cyber Security Conference at the Public Policy Exchange in May, highlighted the lack of action UK businesses are taking to combat the growing risk of cyber-attacks.
Many businesses seem to be overcome by the need to implement the latest versions of technology and security infrastructure. This is important of course, but keeping cyber security issues confined to the IT crowd, leaves the rest of your organisation in the dark and open to attack. Where companies seem to be failing, is training their people on security best practice.
Ubiqus understands that all our clients want us to carefully manage their materials so that they are kept secure. Any breach of data security is just as serious for Ubiqus as it is for our clients as it poses significant risk to our reputation. Ubiqus has company-wide policies on Data Security and Information Risk that are reviewed and updated on an annual basis and, more importantly, discussed with all staff members.
These reviews also bring about firm action. In recent months we have beefed up physical security and surveillance of our London office. The latest step this month has been further tightening security of our Client Extranet and file transfer portal. Its protection was already at the same standard as online banking and yet we have added an extra layer of best security practices in password protection.
We were not the only ones updating our online portals this month. We have also been assisting our clients in translating not only updated portal content, but also access information. Several of these projects have spanned between 15 and 20 different language combinations.
We’ve also had a piece of the Olympics action thanks to the logistics and marketing websites we have been translating for Rio 2016.
Press releases are also a staple piece of our monthly marketing translations. This past month we have been working on several high level press releases across a variety of sectors including Beauty, International Politics and Finance.
We are proud, and very pleased, to announce that Ubiqus UK have been awarded translation and transcription contracts by two UK Regulators in recent months. Being able to pass the rigorous quality and security tests set by these authorities has been a true testament to the quality of our stringent processes, sound policies and the expert people at Ubiqus.
