Ubiqus trekked up to Manchester this summer for the Annual Soccerex Global Convention, which took place from 4 to 6 September. For over 20 years, the event has brought the global football industry together to network in a unique commercial environment. This year saw over 3,000 delegates, 450 clubs, 220 press and media professionals and 170 exhibitors in attendance, committed to growing the beautiful game around the world.

Ubiqus assisted La Liga with their workshop, providing delegates with simultaneous interpretation between Spanish and English. This required a booth, one interpreter, 40 earpieces and on‑site technical support for the smooth running of all sessions. The interpreters then assisted the delegation with a guided tour of Old Trafford.

On the final day, our interpreter provided interpretation for La Liga President, Javier Tebas, who had a few comments regarding Manchester City and PSG’s spending habits. Overall, our client was impressed with our service, and we are likely to return to the next Soccerex convention which moves on to their Asian Forum in Doha from 4 to 5 December, and then on to Shenzhen, China, in April 2018.

Ubiqus often provides interpretation support for Premier League football clubs and the Premier League itself, as well as various other sporting clients, such as the Rugby Football Union.
